Rebuilders
Problem: I need better material planning for the products I am rebuilding. I have a number of different engines that I am rebuilding on the floor and it’s a challenge to keep track of all of the material that is in stock, what needs to be ordered, when items will arrive and then know if indeed they have arrived. What is the best way to manage all of the different jobs I have in my rebuilding shop?
Solution: PTM-Vision has a specific software module for doing material resource planning that will track all of the material for every job. Using a bill of materials (BOM) will help you manage your material resources and scheduling.
Problem: I need a better means of estimating the cost of the different rebuilding jobs I do. I have a number of different components I am rebuilding in my shop at any given time and I am not sure how much labor is going into each unit. I know I am losing money on some of them, I just don’t know which ones. What is the best way to track labor on these jobs?
Solution: PTM-Vision offers in-house work orders for these types of jobs. The in-house work order will not only track all labor but parts as well. If the rebuilding process includes tear down, cleaning, re-assembly, etc., all labor and parts are tracked to the specific unit and work order. Shop Time Manager is the simple answer to accurately collect labor times by function and total job. When the component is rebuilt, all labor and parts will be listed on the work order providing you with an accurate cost so you can know what to sell the rebuilt component for.
